As I mentioned in my previous post I finally got my Julep Bombshell Maven Box. It's the first subscription box I've ever gotten and I used a code to get it at about $5 if I remember correctly. Anyway, For those of you who don't know the Julep subscription box is a monthly subscription box at $19.99 a month. Depending on which Style you get in the style quiz you can get any combination of a couple of nail polishes a month and a beauty product (or three, I believe, if you get the Modern Beauty Maven).
The Julep Box is pretty simply on the outside and it leaves you with no mystery in what came in the mail today.
This was my first glance at the box. It actually looks pretty... Classy? I've never gotten a subscription box before so I don't know if nail polish/ makeup boxes usually look classy, but the first look was a good one.
The box didn't really come with any info card on the products but it gave two cute little information card about the benefits of being a Maven, the type of box you got, and the 'welcome' letter to their services.
One of the first things I noticed was the Instant Warming Foot Scrub sample since I was not expecting to get this. I haven't tried it yet but it's sort of tempting. Maybe one of these days when I have a day to myself I'll try it out.
The next thing I took out was the Mint Condition Pedi Creme. I don't really paint my toenails and I also sort of don't know what it would be used for (I know I'm so lame. But I wound up giving it to my stepmother since she loves doing her nails and things like that. She'll probably like it and I'll be sure to give an update on what she thinks of it.
Now for the fun stuff. This is one of the nail polishes I got. It's called 'Madison' and it's part of their "Classic with a Twist" collection. You can't really tell from the picture but it's a peachy pink. Not really my favorite shade but combined with the other polish they gave me it turned out okay.
The second polish they sent me was 'Oscar' from the "It Girl" collection. This one I really loved because it was sparkly gold (I'm such a little kid). I really love nail polishes that I can paint on top of others, like the Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy. So I wound up painting it on top of the pinkish polish and it looked really cute.
My final verdict is that I surprisingly loved the box. I don't paint my nails that often and honestly my job doesn't allow me the liberty since they get ruined really easily. but this is definitely a box that I will get every once and awhile, which is another great thing about it. On the 20th of every month you get to see what will be included in your box and can choose to skip it any month you choose or even get one of the other boxes.
So if you have any friends who would be or if you yourself are interested in in the Julep box then you can go ahead and check it out here;
